Summary: This isn’t your typical John and Marlena fan fiction. It will have many of the same characters…however they aren’t the characters as you know them. Many of them will be different in context, age and so on. Of course the bases of this story is John and Marlena but there isn’t any of the same old storylines! This story will be based on things that might actually happen in the real world…LOL! I hope you enjoy! By the way…I am not sure how short…or long this story will be.

This story starts in Salem. Marlena is 21 years old and living at home with her father Frank, and her two nephews John and Christian. Marlena’s parents have been divorced since she was eleven years old. Marlena is helping her father Frank raise her sister Sam’s two boys. Marlena’s mother Martha isn’t around much unless she wants something, because Marlena and Martha’s relationship is tumultuous at best. Marlena works at the Brady Pub during the day in addition to raising her two nephews and going to college at night to accomplish her goal of being a psychiatrist. Marlena is close to one person in her life and that is Caroline Brady…the one woman who has been more of a mother to her than the woman who gave birth to her! Marlena does her best not to depend on ANYONE for ANYTHING! She has come to the realization in her life that the only person she can count on is herself. Because of being continually let down in her life she has become very hard and makes a point of not letting anyone get to close to her. Because of this she has a very small circle of friends that she trusts…and it is very hard to become a part of that circle.
